In the 13th tournament of the 3rd seasonโs league, 27 players from 11 countries participated. One new player: apoovitus ๐ฌ๐ญ participated in this league for the first time this season. Taking the total number of players to 62. Featured in the top 10 players from Afrika - 4, from Asia - 2, Americas - 2 and from Europe - 3.
mrjohnson ๐ณ๐ฌ prevailed once again to win the tournament with a perfect 7.0 points score, in another tough tournament well done to him ๐๐๐. ayoboss ๐ง๐ฏ placed 2nd with 6.0 points, losing a game to mrjohnson ๐ณ๐ฌ. issahfuseinji ๐ฌ๐ญ placed 3rd also with 5.0 points, losing a gamesย mrjohnson ๐ณ๐ฌ & & drawing 2 games with josty ๐ฌ๐ญ & abilohre ๐ฌ๐ญ.ย josty ๐ฌ๐ญ & abilohre ๐ฌ๐ญ placed 4th and 5th respectively. Well done to them & everyone else who participated ๐๐๐.
We applaud the 2 female players from Uganda: bme ๐บ๐ฌ & vivian256 ๐บ๐ฌ for consistently participating in these leagues. Well done also to the 2 junior players: eldani45 ๐จ๐ด &ย manrike ๐จ๐ด from Colombia ๐จ๐ดrepresenting their team. In this edition the top 3 positions were occupied by players from three countries: Nigeria ๐ณ๐ฌ, Benin ๐ง๐ฏ & Ghana ๐ฌ๐ญ well done to them ๐๐๐.
The Oga Ota of Nigeriaโs ๐ณ๐ฌ mrjohnsonโs winning streak continues apace, albeit with stiff competition. With this win he remains in the lead with 11 wins out of 13 and 81.0 points. ayoboss ๐ง๐ฏ along with roberisco ๐ฌ๐ญ have 1 weekly title a piece to their credit and join mrjohnson ๐ณ๐ฌ on the roll call of winners. The overall difference between top four players has stretched to 14.5, 28.5 & 30.5ย points respectively.
In his absence Asian Champion serkiaktayev ๐ฐ๐ฟ continues to drop down the rankings and is some 62.5 points behind the leader. His team mate e17 ๐ฐ๐ฟ has pulled away from him and is 30.5 points away from mrjohnson ๐ณ๐ฌ. The European champion monkftw ๐ฌ๐ง with 39.0 points is now in 10th position after being overtaken paulie42 ๐จ๐ฟ with 41.5 points. American Continental champion daallo ๐ฒ๐ฝ with 29.5 points is some 51.5 points off.ย We continue to observe if they or other players from their continent can make up the difference.
Will there be new players including master & grandmasters joining the league to add more dynamism to it. Time will tell, as the players from Antigua & Barbuda ๐ฆ๐ฌ, Barbados ๐ง๐ง, Burkina Faso ๐ง๐ซ, Cape Verde ๐จ๐ป, Gambia, Guinea ๐ฌ๐ณ, Guinea Bissau ๐ฌ๐ผ Ivory Coast ๐จ๐ฎ, Mali ๐ฒ๐ฑ, Niger ๐ณ๐ช, Sierra Leone ๐ธ๐ฑ, Saint Lucia ๐ฑ๐จ, Togo ๐น๐ฌ are yet to enter the fray. Players from 18 countries that participated in last yearโs league are yet to participate in this edition of the league. Do well to recruit other players to participate in the upcoming practice tournaments in preparation for the championships to come.
Please take note, the top positioned players who are International or Full members of The Oware Society before the league ends, will be awarded cash prizes. Therefore If you place in the top 3, and wish to be considered for a cash award, join The Oware Society before the league ends. The top placed, International or Full members in the female, junior & continental categories will be awarded cash prizes so long as they are Full or International members and enough funds are raised. If enough funds are raised we will consider awarding prizes for country winners, so long as the country is represented by 5 or more players, is not in the top three or a continental champion.
